This year, they waved the permit fee, and have a $2.50 flat processing fee for up to 3 trees
Its a good year to get a couple, and you can get your permit online, which i think is new! One thing you should know is tgat unless you cut at a specific christmas tree farm, you may be disappointed in the tree you get You can get a permit from the forest service to cut, but you'll only find lodgepole pines, blue spruce or white pines, none of which are particuarly 'full', especially when young.
